April showers? The best cosy study spots to beat exam blues.
Exam season is nearing, and you may be getting your head down for the final push of Semester two deadlines.
However, as libraries are filling up and it’s near enough impossible to bag yourself a seat AND a plug for your laptop, here are some cosy study spots with great coffee to keep you on track.
1) HYGGE Sheffield
Only a short walk from the station, HYGGE offers a change of scenery and is a great group study option. This open-planned coffee shop has lots of seating options, as well as an impressive array of sweet pastries, fantastic cake slices and brunch options to keep you fuelled and motivated. In need of a revision break? The swinging chairs are perfect for a little catch up and Hygge even hosts board game sessions on Tuesdays between 4pm-6pm, which are completely free to join.
2) Nam Song
Vietnamese restaurant and coffee spot Nam Song is definitely one for a rainy day, with cosy floor cushions to sit on as you tap away or get ahead with some reading. Situated in Broomhill, you have to try their iconic Phin Filter Coffee. The hot black coffee can be mixed with either regular, coconut, or condensed milk, creating a comforting caffeine hit which is made for those with a sweet tooth.
3) 200 Degrees
200 Degrees on bustling Division Street has a cool industrial look with dimmed lighting perfect for these drizzly days. There are plenty of sturdy tables and plugs, serve a great hot chocolate with all the works and have lots of cheesy toasties if lunchtime is around the corner. Also, take advantage of their loyalty scheme on the app, with discounts and deals helping you save cash on your study date.
4) Gaard 2 Coffee Hide
Tucked into Fitzgerald Square and just a few steps away from Devonshire Green, this little coffee shop and cafe pride themselves on their tasty vegan and vegetarian options. It boasts some beautiful views from their upstairs area, ideal for some creative inspiration, and they do great iced coffees.
5) Showroom Workstation
This iconic independent cinema is just outside Sheffield train station and has some great deals to help you stay productive. For £8 a day you can bag yourself unlimited hot and soft drinks (including all the fresh coffees, syrups, and extras), as well as reliable Wi-Fi and use of plug sockets. You can even pre-book your spot so there’s no need to be fighting over a study space.
Happy studying!
