London Road, Abbeydale Road & Bramall Lane
Just south of the city centre, London Road (that in turn becomes Abbeydale Road) is one of the main arterial roads leading out of Sheffield towards the
Peak District. The residential area around London Road, Abbeydale Road & Bramall Lane (Bramall Lane is just off London Road, famous for its football
club!!!!!!) is a real melting pot with many nationalities and socially mixed groups; families rub shoulders with young professionals and party minded
students alike. All this leads to a vibrant buzzing multicultural community, with restaurants and takeaways from all over the world, traditional pubs,
and plenty of local shops and amenities such as local Sainsbury’s and a late night pharmacy. City Centre & Collegiate Campus are within walking
distance of London Road & Bramall Lane, and, whilst a bit further out, Abbeydale Road, known as the “Antique Quarter” for its eclectic mix of little
shops, has easy access into the city centre and good
local transport.

Ecclesall Road Area
Ecclesall Road leads out of the City Centre and runs SouthWest for
3.5 miles out to the Peak District, known as “The Golden Mile” for
its cosmopolitan bars, trendy pubs and street lined cafe’s, not to
mention shops & boutiques – it’s a hive of activity both day & night.
Students are well provided for with a large Tesco Metro, 24 hr Spar,
Blockbuster store and fast food outlets, including Subway, KFC and
Pizza Hut along with numerous kebab shops. Easy access to the City
Centre and Hallam City Campus, with Collegiate Crescent Campus
right on the doorstep and the University of Sheffield still within close
proximity, make this an ever popular student destination.

Broomhill
Broomhill lies approximately 500m west of the University of Sheffield
and therefore is the most popular student destination. A bustling self
contained suburb with every conceivable local amenity for work/study
and leisure, with shops ranging from Oxfam to Blackwells Bookshop,
including a supermarket and Boots the Chemist. There are numerous
restaurants and takeaways to cater for all tastes and budgets such
as Subway, the infamous “Balti King”, pizzerias and fish & chips, all
open through to the early hours of the morning. Popular pubs and bars
include, The Place and Fox & Duck just to name a couple.

Broomhall
An urban area just west of the city centre extremely popular with students due to its close proximity to Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus, but also for its
enviable central location and easy access to all the campuses and the vibrant night life of the city centre and Ecclesall Road alike. The area itself is primarily
residential but with a predominant student population. The style of housing is quite diverse, with large grand buildings that are owner occupied, or converted
into student accommodation, smaller terraced houses or purpose built student housing. Walk down to Ecclesall Road and you pass through Broomhall Park
listed as one of Sheffield’s conservation areas. There is a local supermarket on Broomhall Street for convenience, and nearby all the shops on Ecclesall Road
and West Street.

Crookesmoor
Crookesmoor lies immediately north of the University of Sheffield’s main campus. A residential area, it comprises largely of terraced houses, and now has a
significant student population, therefore has an eclectic mix of amenities to cater for all. Parking is primarily unrestricted street parking (subject to standard
highway restrictions). You will find numerous pubs and bars within ¼ mile radius such as The Hadfield, Springvale, Closed Shop & Hallamshire
House - most offering themed nights, cheap drinks and good pub food. Varying shops include local supermarket, an off licence and takeaways that
offer an international selection of choices from Indian to Burgers and kebabs. Crookesmoor is an Ideal location for University of Sheffield Students, however
regular local transport (95 bus route) will take you to Sheffield Hallam City Campus in less than 10 minutes or by foot only about 20 minutes.

Sharrow
Sharrow is a vibrant area of Sheffield, that falls between London Road and Ecclesall Road and therefore offers a huge range of
amenities, shops, restaurants, bars & boutiques. Primarily a residential area predominantly of terraced housing, Sharrow
has in recent years become increasingly popular with Sheffield Hallam Students. Its close proximity to Ecclesall Road and
the slightly cheaper rents make it an attractive area for accommodating students at both Sheffield Universities.
