Abbeydale Road Beer Festival
Book in your plans for the end of August now by adding Abbeydale Road Beer Festival to your diary.
An annual event, this beer festival is a brilliant way to explore the pubs along Abbeydale Road and visit some of the venues you might not have had a chance to try over the last year.
This year, the beer festival is taking place from Thursday 31st July to Sunday 3rd August, and will be what event organisers are calling “the ultimate craft beer showdown between Lancashire and Yorkshire”.
The beer festival is free to attend; all you need to do is turn up, grab your stamp card, and enjoy some craft beers!
Peddler Market No. 96
The first Friday and Saturday of each month is when Peddler Market rolls into Peddler Warehouse in Neepsend. During August, the market will take place on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd, bringing a new set of incredible street food vendors, market stall holders and music to the warehouse.
Peddler Market is a great way to relax and unwind at the end of the week and have fun with friends. If you haven’t made it down to Kelham Island and Neepsend yet, this is the perfect excuse!
The Graves Park Food and Drink Festival
International street food, live music, chef demonstrations, artisan markets, and so much more are all waiting for you at Graves Park this August. Taking place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August, the food festival is a fantastic free way to fill your weekend while trying some incredible local and international, independently crafted produce.
If your family are looking to visit you during the long summer break, this is also a great opportunity to entertain your younger siblings with plenty of kid-friendly activities happening throughout the weekend.
Your new favourite coffee spot
Tamper, Sellers Wheel
Yards from Sheffield Hallam University, you will find Tamper at Sellers Wheel. Bringing New Zealand cafe culture to the city centre, Tamper serves top-quality coffee alongside incredible seasonal breakfast and lunch menus.

Kilnfolk is the perfect spot for coffee, cakes and homeware, with barista-made speciality coffee made in Dor and Tan ceramics. Dor and Tan’s pottery studio is located next door to Kilnfolk, with their beautiful homeware available to purchase in Kilnfolk.
We love this unique coffee spot, and if you are searching for a relaxing space to grab a coffee, Kilnfolk could be ideal for you.
Gaard Coffee Hide, West One
A vegan cafe with vegetarian options, Gaard has two locations in Sheffield, including at West One Plaza.
Offering incredible specials like the Spicy Tex-Mex Cheeseburger and their Strawberry Pancakes, Gaard offers some of the best vegan food in Sheffield. With special deals and offers available regularly on both food and drinks, Gaard is also an excellent option if you want to treat yourself without going over budget.
One final thing to remember. If you’re heading down to Gaard for breakfast, don’t forget to get there early, or you might miss out on their delicious breakfast sandwiches!
Live music and shows
Tramlines Fringe Events
If you didn’t manage to bag tickets for this year’s Tramlines before the festival sold out, then don’t worry, there are plenty of fringe events to fill your weekend with.
The main fringe stage will be popping up on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July in Devonshire Green with acts performing throughout the day for you to enjoy for free!

Public Image Ltd at Foundry
Want to see a pop punk legend? On the 30th July, pop-punk band Public Image Ltd will be making an appearance at Foundry, with frontman John Lydon, better known by his former stage name Johnny Rotten, as the frontman of the Sex Pistols.
Founded in 1978, Public Image Ltd are icons in the punk scene with five top 20 UK singles and five top 20 UK albums.

Riverdance
Coming to Sheffield City Hall for five shows during August, the spectacular show is celebrating 30 years of history with a new production. Riverdance is visiting Sheffield between the 16th and 18th of August, and this is your chance to see a show which is undoubtedly a cultural sensation.
